Dr. Palani. G. Periasamy is basically an academic. He commenced his career as Assistant Professor in India and later moved on to USA for higher studies and research. At a young age he became a full tenure Professor of Economics at University of Maryland, USA. Though later he became an entrepreneur his fist love is always education.
Realizing the importance of Basic Science and Humanities in the intellectual and economic development of India buttressed by his experience of American academic scenario he started the Arts and Science College in 1994. The college has excellent state of the art computer centre and labs. The faculties are well versed in their subjects and the Principal is well qualified and experienced veteran in the educational field.
The aim of the chairman and the is to teach the students well, make them to master their chosen discipline, imbibe in them a sense of values, instill discipline in the students both physical appearance and also mental makeup their appearance by proper dress code, punctuality and general behaivour, improve their self confidence, acquire a good knowledge of English and communication skill, make them a well rounded persons. Depending upon the current economic situation courses are made market - employment - oriented. A set of useful craft course of short duration are also run to meet the requirement of local market.
Thus the endeavor of chairman and PGP College of Arts and Science is to teach and turn out students fully employable when they leave the college and enter into the job market. Most important to make them good citizen of India.
