Dr. S. Padmavathy M.A., M.phil.,Ph.D., MBA.,
Dr. S. Padmavathy M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., MBA. is the Principal of the college. She took her post graduate degree in Economics in 1974 and later obtained Ph.D. She has rich academic knowledge and teaching experience of more than 32 years at various levels. Apart from her experience in Government colleges she served as Research Officer in Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education for more than 2 years and gained rich administrative experience.
She is now guiding the PGPCAS in a right way. Academics, staff and students are happy to have her as Principal of PGPCAS. Dr. S. Padmavathy, Principal is interested in curricular as well as extra curricular activities.
As an approved guide for research work in Economics she is guiding Ph.D. and M.Phil. scholars. So far 3 candidates have submitted their Ph.D. thesis under her guidance and 5 of them will be submitting the thesis shortly. Already she has guided more than 20 M.Phil scholars and 10 MBA students and 45 master level theses in Economics.
She has published 5 books on Economics in Tamil for the benefit of the students who study Economics in Tamil medium.

She was felicitated by the Education Minister of Tamil Nadu for writing a book published by Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education. Has published many articles in edited books and reputed journals. At present she is preparing a book for PG students to be published by Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education under the scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi.
She was a resource person for two international, ten national and five State/ Regional conferences and seminars. She has presented research papers in more than 100 conferences in India and aboard.
She has visited many countries viz USA, Singapore, UK, Austrila, Japan, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Sri lanka, Korea, Tahiwan and Dubai for paper presentations, training programmes, university collaborative inputs and on personal level.
Women Studies is her area of specialization. Most of her research concentrates on women related topics. As a life member of various International and National professional associations, she is contributing a lot for the cause of education.
She is a Committed Naturalist. She has taken keen interest in flora and fauna. She with sincere support of faculty and students has built-up a Medicinal / Herbal plant garden in the Arts College campus.
