Discipline
We have a highly disciplined student community. They miss classes only if unavoidable circumstances force them to keep away from the college. The attendance level generally ranges over 90%.
Ragging and Eve Teasing
Ragging means display of noise, disorderly conduct, doing any act which causes or is likely to cause physical and psychological harm to raise apprehension or fear or shame or embarrassment to a student in any educational institution and includes.
Teasing, abusing or playing practical jokes on, or causing hurt such a student or Asking the student to do any act or perform something which such a student will not in the ordinary course willing to do.
Both, ragging and eve teasing are totally prohibited in educational institutions and are punishable offences. Severe penalties are imposed on the offenders. Act No. 7 of 1997 dated 14th February 1997 defines ragging and lays down the penalties.
An Anti-Ragging Committee has been formed. This Committee monitored the situation regularly. Students can contact them anytime.
Prohibition:
Ragging within and outside the campus of any educational institutions is prohibited.

Penalty for Ragging
Fine up to Rs.10, 000/= and imprisonment for a term extending up to 2 years. A student dismissed from an Institute is not admitted by any other institution.
Whenever any student complains of ragging to the HOD of the Institution or to any person responsible for management, such person shall immediately inquire into the same and if found true shall suspend the student, who has committed the offence, from the Institute. The decision of the Head of the Institute is firm and final.
Class Tests & Model Examination
Unlike the school education, the professional college education impresses upon continuous learning process. Three continuous internal assessment tests, one model theory and model practical examinations are held during each semester before the students go for University Examination. Results are communicated to the parents within 7 days of holding the test to keep them updated with the progress of their ward.
Parents are expected to advise the erring wards to correct themselves lest it is too late to redeem the situation. Parents are encouraged to keep in touch with the Principal at frequent intervals to monitor the performance of their wards.
Counselling
In the era of conspicuous glamour, most of the students are confused. They want to have everything but don't know how? The biggest paradox is that they consider learning is easy and access to information is equivalent to acquisition of knowledge, they feel that like instant food there is instant knowledge. How interesting? But life is not like that.
We believe in constant monitoring of students both in the academic career as well as their behavioural pattern. So 15-20 students are allotted to a lecturer who acts as their Counsellor throughout the year. He/she watches, guides, corrects and try to make them successful in their academic career.
Scholarship
PGPCET offers merit scholarship to deserving students besides the SC/ST/MBC scholarships. A student who secures a minimum of 85% marks and stands first or second in his / her branch is awarded this scholarship. A committee constituted by the Chairman decides the award of scholarship. The scholarship remains effective till the end of 8th semester provided the student continues to score a minimum of 80% marks in subsequent examinations.
Curricular and Extra Curricular Opportunities
It is mandatory for every student to become the member of at least on student body. They are also expected to become member of at least one of the professional bodies like Institutes of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Indian Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Computer Society of India (CSI), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Students are offered sample opportunities for participations in NSS, Youth Red Cross Society activities, etc.
